Feeding development of children with microcephaly: a descriptive study

ABSTRACT Purpose: to describe feeding characteristics of children with microcephaly, encompassing the route, food consistencies, and utensils used feed them. Methods: a descriptive study approved by Research Ethics Committee, including 34 caregivers diagnosed microcephaly. They answered structured interview on children’s breastfeeding, them, besides sociodemographic overall development data. Descriptive statistical analyses were performed, presenting absolute percentage frequencies measures central tendency dispersion. Results: in sample responsible for born between 2015 2018, due various causes. Of these, 33 (97.02%) oral their first year life - 26 (76.44%) nine which (26.46%) exclusively so until 6 months old.
